I'd go to war
with Sarah

The genesis of a Sarah Palin supporter.

Inland Empire Team Sarah

I am going to state my position on Sarah Palin early, so friends, family, and a quickly growing list of fellow like-minded associates know where I'm coming from over the next couple years.

In the past, I have stood in advocacy of the honorable men and women of law enforcement (LE) and the institute of police work in America. I have been privileged to have held a few positions of trust (non-sworn) in that service over those years.

In the eve of the Clinton era and pre-Millennium, anti-cop rhetoric in culture war arenas was white hot. The state's militias were active and high-profile in the middle of what was predicted to be the Y2K generated meltdown of Western civilization, racialist "activism" directed against local cops was in full swing, and the uniformed men and women of local, state, and federal police work were facing down manifold threats and a blizzard of media attacks from both sides of the political spectrum.

American cops were the ones who were, by default per their position in society, going to be the ones enforcing by violence the Socialist "new world order" in the wake of the impending meltdown. We know how all that ended up.

Already having a few friends (shockingly normal people!) working in LE, I knew the world view of mainstream police work. It was far afield of what was being pushed at that time. It still is.

Then the events of 9/11 transpired, and the selfless heroics of the New York PD and NY Port Authority cops were broadcast before the nation. Men died. Honorable and valorous men - fire-fighters as well - who faced this criminal atrocity alone while Manhattan fled away.

The 180 degree turn-around in the minds of Americans in their views of street cops was quite profound, from ambivalence to support for their mission. The slander, the demonization, the lies, insinuation, and innuendo heaped on the people working in this peculiar field of service over previous years melted away under the brilliant light of hard core reality as these cop's character was displayed nation-wide.

I became quite familiar with the rhetoric of LE's detractors and enemies. There were the usual suspects. It became predictable. Liars.

Now many years later, I see the same tactics being utilized against Sarah Palin. There are the usual suspects. The radical Left. The Main Stream Media (MSM). And the corrupt, status-quo GOP and Republican National Committee which just squandered almost two decades of work and effort by their base supporters to deliver us to where we are today.

Street cops have a term within their culture referring to an officer's "bona fides," their authentic credentials. It is respect and recognition that is given to those who have faced the worst threats and paid the price of their commitment. These are dependable, consistent, steady; those who have "got bloody." They are not posturing and boasting "wannabes."

Fort Hood PD Sgt. Kimberly Munley is a good contemporary example. On 05 November, 2009, both she and her partner faced down Nidal Malik Hasan as he engaged in a jihadi attack at the US Army Fort Hood Soldier Readiness Center. Sgt. Munley aggressively engaged the shooter, sent multiple rounds down range, took hits in return, but neutralized the threat, immediately ended the active shooter scenario, and thus saved many lives. Thankfully, she is on the mend.

She is bona fide. She is a credit to the institute of police work in America.

Which brings us back to Sarah Palin. On a less intense scale and politically speaking, she has established her bona fides as well. Not talking the talk, but walking the walk, from facing down the rampant corruption in Alaskan GOP politics, enduring the threats against her and her family, shouldering the relentless slander, lies… (see reference to the cops above), to strategically redeploying by refusing to be shackled and financially bankrupted by her leftist political enemies (backed by the DNC) as governor of Alaska and stepping down and moving unhindered by them in another direction (too bad for them).

I spend time with people like this. I stand behind people like this.

Arson caused fire damage to the Wasilla Bible Church, home church of governor Sarah Palin and family. The perpetrator has never been caught.
Sarah Palin's cultural 9/11 in my view was on 12 December, 2008, when a "suspicious" fire devastated the Wasilla Bible Church attended by Palin in her hometown of Wasilla. The church's minister Rev. Larry Kroon said, "We have no idea what caused it."

Everybody knows what caused it. A Palin hater, with the tacit endorsement of progressive liberalism's violent, morally bankrupt world view.

It is funny how this fell off the MSM's radar so quick.

Incredibly, two days later in a 14 December, 2008, letter to our local paper under a heading "Christians Ask For It," a writer states in part, "Most of the anger surrounding Christianity was created by the actions of Christians themselves. Present-day Christians are some of the most close-minded individuals in our society, and many fail to reflect and respect the beliefs of Christ himself. … When Christians show all members of our society respect, society will in turn respect Christians. Until that day comes, Christians will truly reap what they sow."

What is extraordinary about this is the letter writer is an English teacher at our district's Middle College High School. He was one of my daughter's teachers. He never responded to my email questioning the letter.

In an email to my private list, I wrote concerning this, in part, "…I am curious if Mr. Ellis feels the recent felony arson of Sarah Palin's home church is a conspiracy and "reaping what they have sown." I'm curious what else people like this feel is justified against those they disagree with."

I BCC'd his Principle. I never heard from him either.

This is, of course, to be expected, their closed-minded silence conveying endorsement of the attack. As the saying goes, fascism is okay when they do it.

A casual supporter of Sarah at that point, the incident put me solid in the Palin camp. She has the bona fides, the furtive protests of her detractors notwithstanding. Sarah, her family, and close friends have "got bloody," and her public life testifies she packs the gear to prevail in a wider arena, as the honorable men and women of the NYPD and Port Authority cops prevailed in the WTC arena.

She is a menace to the moral degeneracy of the left, a testament to the irrelevancy of the MSM, and a threat to the corruption and elitist status quo of the right with the promise of badly needed genuine reform of the Republican party. Furthermore, she is a stark alternative at this point to the mediocrity of the current male leadership in the GOP.

She embodies everything the Republican Party needs right now, and I believe anybody modeling a street detective's investigative impartiality and objectivity delving into her background and world view would come to that conclusion as well.

Even now, sensible people by the millions have seen through the blizzard of liberal hate and GOP malevolence thrown her way and are falling in behind her and her family, intuitively perceiving her unique standing in this nation and these times, and her potential.

Gingrich?

Romney?

Pawlenty?

Huckabee?

Anybody else the status-quo GOP wants to field?

Meh!

In Judges chapter 4, Barak was mandated by God through Deborah to raise an army to engage the forces of Jabin's army. One can infer from the text Israel was bereft of qualified male leadership at that time. Barak told her, concerning the war:

"If you will go with me, then I will go: but if you will not go with me, then I will not go."

Me?

In today's political arena, I'd go to war with Sarah. Not anyone else.

“Gov. Palin stopped by the church this morning, and she told an assistant pastor that she apologizes if the incident is in any way connected to the undeserved negative attention the church has received since she became a vice-presidential candidate on Aug. 29. Whatever the motives of the arsonist, the governor has faith in the scriptural passage that what was intended for evil will in some way be used for good.” - Sarah Palin statement on the Wasilla Bible Church burning.
